The closet...

So we are moving in less than 4 days and I have decided to make the walk in closet my own personal haven... the one i have always been dreaming of with lots of color and a seat and a vanity. With my tiny budget, it will be fun to see how much bang I can get for my buck. In the meantime, here are some closets that are drool-worthy...

Shopaholic, check. lots of shoes, check.

Carrie Bradshaw's closet. Enough said.

Kimora Lee Simmons. Glam and HUGE>>

Ok, I dont have this much room, but ohhh it looks like a store...

Eva Longoria's closet. Love the rich tones and library feel with the ladder.

I dont think I own this many pants, lol.

D_I_V_I_N_E !!!!! Maybe I should put my computer in the closet...what do you think?

Ok, off to bed, much more to blog about later.

xoxo

OK , so I forgot to put up some pics of my bathroom with my new coordinating towels (thanks mom)!!
our bathroom as you walk in...

the new hand towels mom got us... and the painting of a sailboat above the towels was from steves childhood room.

My new display, of corse with steve in the house it will last all of 10 minutes...

our pillows made a transition from the bed to the sofa...i think they pop and add something to the room. Of corse now the painting above the sofa doesn't match...hmm have to fix that...

This is the dress that I am thinking about wearing to graduation. Im not sure if it will be a good choice or not....

And here are some earrings that I worked on today...love the color combo!!!

Ok, back to work, but me and steve are snuggled on the couch watching Ms. Pettigrew lives for a day...love the classic 20's style and amazing decor!!

New Bedding...

OK, so I haven't been keeping up the way I want to, but school has been so busy and I'm running a roller-coaster of a ride for my last semester of college. I have been sending out resumes with little response or the always dreaded "we have  a hiring freeze in our office". But I am keeping faith and my and the hunnie are still proceeding with moving to peabody on august 31 (I'll post about that later).

In other news...I have been trying to take advantage of Boston while i am still here living in the city. Not far from our apartment in Brookline is this great farmers market that I took my BFF Kate to the other day...

It was in a parking lot, which was cool…

Kate and I, about to hunt for bargains…

Some of my goodies...(homemade granola, fresh zucchini, green bean pods, and smoked gouda cheese)

Mom and CJ and Oscar came to visit for the july 4th weekend, so that was super fun and mom put her touch on the apartment by cleaning the kitchen sink and  bathroom (the kitchen sink is a porcelain, which is hard to clean) Thanks mom!!

After they left, she called me so excited because she bought us new bedding to thank us for the weekend...

It is an awesome quilt with lovely sand-dollars embroidered in teal...

The center pillow I made for Steve the summer after my first year of college...

This morning, after an amazing night of sleep...

Ahh thats better...

And this is us this morning, right after breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes...

MOM, THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE BEDDING! WE LOVE IT AND IT ADDS SO MUCH TO OUR BEDROOM!

Vacation!!!

So the BF and I have a week of vacation in between our semesters in school, so we are now at my moms house in NY. I miss being here so much. The trees, the birds, and the old house...it all makes this place so nice to visit (plus my family of corse!!). The BF decided to put a new flower bed in the front yard, so while he is working on that, I went around the house and the yard and took photos of my favorite things....enjoy...

front yard being worked on...

a single tulip growing on the side yard...

currently the backyard is looking more like a jungle...

The shed sitting on the corner of the property...(when i lived here i wanted to turn it into my studio...until i found out a gofer had made a hole in the floor..hmmm)

a view from the yard looking at the new deck...since we have gotten here, we have had many meals on the deck and it is so peaceful...very relaxing.

moms new patio furniture...

the BF spraying bug spray on the side yard...

view of the new french doors...

I just love this house and everything about it...it feels like home, is rich in character and over 100 years old, and it is cozy and warm... all good elements to kick back and relax...

inside, i want to share some photos because sometimes i cant believe my mom decorated on such a budget. she really amazes me sometimes and what we did in the house was done for cheap!!!

view into the kitchen from the deck... we were lucky enough to have the kitchen remodeled when we moved in, so mom just jazzed it up a bit with the swag curtians...

The living room...the painting above the sofa was a christmas gift from my uncle, whos artist. It has the eiffel tower, and her 3 kids in hot air balloons surrounding it. He also incorperated the house in a back corner. Needless to say, she cried when she opened it.

The dining room...we found the table at a local antique shop for $100.00!!! We painted it white and stenciled fleur-de-lis on it and it works great in this room! The chandelier is from HSN, on sale.

my moms room...this is the best room out of the whole house. It gets the most sunlight and has the most privacy, not to mention the walk in closet. She did this room for DIRT CHEAP...getting things from the family, passed down, or from antique shops...

Lastly, but certianly not least, our pet guinea pig, Oscar.

He is just so precious, we all love him so dearly. We gave him a bath today and he was so good...

ok, time for bed, tomorrow I'm picking out more favorite things....

Home Sweet Home

So I thought to get to know me a little better, you should see where I live.

I currently reside in Brookline, MA a hop skip and jump away from my school. We are lucky to live in a community that has tennis courts, a swimming pool and a gym all in the middle of the city! Here is a view of the front water features...

We stumbled upon this place while my BF was working on a job site, and after sleeplessly searching for months on the internet, the BF says 'oh i found our place' in a single day! Needless to say, I still don't understand how everything comes so easily for him!! (i am, of corse, glad he found this place, though!) So here's our living room:

our new sofa, in brown...I'm still trying to find the right pillows...
The painting above the sofa was a gift from the BF's parents, an original from france of Notre-Dame.

my woodsy candles on the vintage turkish table in the living room:

the cute little squares drawn by my BFF, kate:

The photos i put up next to our coat closet. I had this in mind even before we moved in, it is the first thing you see, and each photo has our closest family members in it. I love it because when i come home, it is the first thing I see and reminds me of my mom!

This was my 22nd birthday gift from my godmother...i just love it, even though i may be too old for a dollhouse...lol. It rests on our all season room, and I love looking at it.

The BF's corner...he loves to paint and create. I am so excited about his newest project...a cube painting....(ooo i see it over my desk when its done!!). Please ignore the ugly pillows under the easel (remnients of the BF...glad he didnt decorate the apartment!).

our kitchen was pretty blah...so i decided to take matters into my own hands and put up these cute pineapple stickers (found at the dollar store).

Our side table... my magazines, BF's candles, remnants of easter, and tissues...we seem to go through them like water....

Ok, so this isn't all of our apartment, I will post our dining room and bedroom later...
